Melbourne schoolteacher Lambis Englezos has worked for six years gathering evidence to discover the truth about what happened to at least 170 missing soldiers at Fromelles in France and he was joined a few years ago by Pvt Willis’ great nephew Tim Whitford.
Lambis and Tim were in Yarram last week with a presentation on their research and the news that the Australian and British governments have announced that the bodies found at Fromelles will be exhumed, identified where possible, and reburied in France where they fell, with full military honours. Deb caught up with Lambis after the presentation.
We’d love to see you at the Strange Country concert tomorrow night at the Sale Baptist Church from 7:30pm. Entry is free – there will be an offering taken for the work of Life FM and there’ll be a great country supper.
If you haven’t been down to Port Albert, it’s a lovely piece of Gippsland and the Museum is absolutely worth a visit. So sit back as we now present in full colour radio – the first part in our series – a walk through the Port Albert Maritime Museum with Nance Forham.
